In the Chart and List views, a Details panel provides you with fundamental information about the profile as a whole (when no specific entity is selected) or for a specific entity (when one is selected).
Located at the top of every view you will find the following buttons;
The Details button is only active in the Chart and List views where it has relevance. You can switch between the views to see the same details.

This will open/close the details panel.
When no entity is selected, the details panel will reflect all the data in the workspace, and include two tabs of information; Entities and Relations.
Entities - this is the default tab and displays the number and details of the entities.
Relations - displays information on the relationships of entities to the Target Company. For example; Immediate Parents, Shareholders and Ultimate Parent.
In the Chart view - Details tab (with no entity selected) you can;
1. Click on the to focus into that entity or relationship. encompass will fade out everything and leave the entity or relationship in focus. The button will change to Defocus.
2. You can also select an entity or relation by clicking on the entity or relationship (relations tab).
This will highlight the entity or the relationship link and display additional details.
Manual Merge Candidates - There are sometimes situations where data returned from different Information Providers cannot exactly be matched by encompass, and we cannot automatically merge the entities. In these instances, encompass will display a duplicate entity on the chart and will indicate a possible match on the label linking the two entities. You will also see a Manual Merge Candidates section in the details panel of the workspace (when nothing specific is selected). You can also click on the label (Match?) and either remove the match label (if it is not a match or merge the entities. See below for details on Merging Duplicates.
When you select an entity, the Details panel will display additional fundamental information about the selected entity, under two tabs; Details and Relations. You can switch between the Chart and List views to see the same details and selected entity.
Details - this is the default tab and displays the Identification details of the Company, Person, Property or Document. The related original source Documents obtained from the search/es are also displayed, and can be opened from the Details panel.
Properties button - Identifies which of the Sources provided the details of the entity.
Add attachment (Expand Documents) - enables you to upload an attachment (max 10MB). This will append a paper-clip glyph to the entity, and will display the attachment in the Documents view. The attachment is also included in the zip file when Downloading the Profile in the Overview.
Add New Note - enables you to add a note relating to the entity. This will append a sticky note glyph to the entity wherever it displays in Encompass; and you will see the Note you add below the Add New Note button in the Details for the entity.
Relations - displays information on the relationships. For example; Shareholders, Secretaries, Directors etc.
You can select two entities you know to be the same (hold down the CTRL key to select). This will display a Merge button in the Details panel.
- Click on the Merge button. You can also click on the Toolbar button More
- Select the values to display on the Merged entity
- Click Merge
- Select the merged entity and click on the Unmerge button or you can use the Toolbar option under
